No fridge at work? Keep your Granuu mix dry until breakfast and add the liquid just before eating. This is a different routine from bringing prepared overnight oats, which need to stay refrigerated.
What to pack for one breakfast
- A portion of Granuu in its original packaging or a clean, tightly closed food container. Follow the storage instructions on the pack.
- A clean bowl and spoon.
- Milk, a suitable plant drink or yoghurt that you can obtain fresh and store as its label requires. Use a single-serving ambient-stable drink only if the unopened pack explicitly allows room-temperature storage.
- Optional whole fruit, washed before eating. Check the mix and toppings for ingredients and allergens that suit you.
The Federal Centre for Nutrition (BZfE) explains why dry foods need protection from moisture and why prepared food and opened drinks have different storage needs.
A bowl in 3 to 5 minutes, without a blender
- Put 60 g of Granuu in a clean bowl.
- Add 150 ml of milk or yoghurt, following Haferwelt's instant-muesli method. If using a plant alternative, follow the product instructions and adjust for the texture you prefer.
- Stir, let stand for 3 to 5 minutes and eat freshly prepared.
These quantities come from the Haferwelt preparation guide (German version). Its shake method is different: 60 g with 350 ml liquid, blended for 90 seconds. A spoon or shaker is not presented here as an equivalent to a blender.
Do prepared oats need cooling?
Yes. Do not leave milk- or yoghurt-based overnight oats on your desk all morning or soak them overnight at room temperature. If you prepare breakfast ahead, keep it refrigerated and maintain cooling during transport. The government portal gesund.bund.de recommends keeping perishable foods cool, including when taking them out of the home. Wash your hands and use clean utensils. Follow the label after opening any drink; do not keep perishable leftovers at an unrefrigerated desk.
